July 08, 2011Reviewer: Cindy in Kentucky* I must have different taste than others that have reviewed this product. I looked at all the reviews before I shelled out the $6+ and everyone was raving about how good the biscuits were. This morning I made my first batch of these and they were very easy to make, however, they ended up tasting like cardboard...YUCK! I had made milk gravy for the rest of the family, so I took a couple of tablespoons of that and put it on one of the biscuits and it was fine because it covered up that nasty taste. The texture was great and they baked up very well. If you can deal with the cardboard taste then this is the product for you. I have another pack left and I am planning on trying to make pancakes instead, maybe they will be better.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpfulDecember 21, 2009Reviewer: A customer in Michigan* I tried this because of the glowing reviews saying it's better than CarbQuick. I have to tell you--it isn't.
When I made biscuits from this mix, they came out flat and overly oily. Carbquick offers a much better baking experience.
I also was able to use Carbquick as thickener, and this mixture does not work nearly as well.
